Our Artwork Preparation Guidelines help you prepare files for clean, accurate printing on your custom packaging. Always use the final BoxBaba-approved dieline and submit editable or print-ready artwork in the requested format, commonly AI, EPS or PDF. Prepare colors according to the approved CMYK or PMS workflow and use high-resolution graphics, typically around 300 DPI at final size where applicable. Extend backgrounds and edge-to-edge graphics into the designated bleed area. Keep important text, logos, barcodes and other critical artwork inside the safe area, and review your final digital proof carefully before approving the artwork for production.

Perforation lines are shown as dotted lines when required and indicate areas designed for controlled tearing or separation. They may be used for tear-away sections or other functional packaging features.

A clear lid box is supposed to let your product do the talking, but if the lid is flimsy, it makes the whole brand look like a bargain-bin item. The biggest issue with clear lids is “scuffing.” If the lids aren’t handled right during production, they arrive with micro-scratches that make them look used. We use scratch-resistant, food-safe plastics that provide a “glass-like” finish. Since a clear lid doesn’t have the structural strength of a cardboard lid, the base of the box has to do all the heavy lifting. If the base is thin, the sides will “bow” inward, and the lid won’t fit right. We use high-density, double-walled or rigid chipboard bases. This ensures the box stays perfectly rectangular, so the lid “clicks” into place and stays there. You get the premium look of a display case with the durability of a shipping box.
There’s nothing worse than a lid that just sits loosely on top. If someone picks up the box by the sides, the bottom falls out. We precision-engineer our dielines for a friction fit.
